PDF Comment Features

Post by matjes85 »

Hi,

we're planning to buy several XChange Pro licenses. I'm not sure if I overlook the following key features or if they are missing:
  • [li]Set comment status (e.g. approved, refused)[/li]
    [li]Comment feature "replace text"[/li]
    [li]Comment feature "add text"[/li]
We need these features to keep our current workflow. Could you please tell me, where I can find these features or confirm that they are missing?

Thanks a lot!

Hello matjes85,

You can use the available stamps with the same "Approved" , "Refused" etc. texts available for the first feature you need.

For editing text - please take a look at our PDF-X Editor:

Hi Stefan,

this is unfortuately not what I'm looking for. I need to set the status of each comment. For example, if I have 5 additions, 3 replacements and 2 deletions on a single page, I need to explicitly approve or dimiss the status of each single comment.

Best regards

I think you can do this in the Editor.

Right Click on the comment or on the popup note and you'll see a Status option where you can set the status of the comment to 'Accepted/Cancelled/Completed/Rejected'. However I was not able to find a way by which I can see all summarized 'Accepts', 'Rejects' etc. The popup note also does not indicate status in any fashion on its title. Maybe it is coming in a future release.

Hope this helps to an extent.

Hello RamNarayan S,

Thanks for your comment. Indeed it's possible to change the status and currently only going to the same drop-down menu will show you the status of a comment, but I am sure this is going to be made more obvious in a future build.

Hi RamNarayan and Tracker Supp-Stefan,

when I right-click on a text highlighted using the Highlight Text Tool, I have the following options.

Open Pop-Up Note
Reset Pop-Up Note Location (grayed out)
Paste
Delete
Order
Add Reply
Set Current Appearance as Default
Apply Defauly Appearance
Properties

No more options here. As I mentioned, I'm using a trial version. It is strange, the software center tells me, there is PDF-XChange 2012 Pro installed, but the title of the application is PDF-XChange Viewer.

Hello matjes85,

The PRO package is a bundle of three products, and one of those products is the Viewer.
What RamNarayan S mentions is our new PDF-X Editor:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... nge-editor
Which is not yet part of the Pro bundle as it's not 100% ready.

You can however download and install it using your license and test the Status changing functionality.

Stefan
