Can PDF XChange convert .dwg to pdf with layer information available and searchable.

Can PDF XChange create Catalogs as does Adobe Acrobat Professional

Welcome to our forums.
Unfortunately no - we can't yet create layered PDFs, and I can't tell you when such an option could be available.
As for Catalogs / Portfolios - You can attach files to a main PDF document, but they won't have the same welcome interface portfolios created with Adobe's products have. Our PDF-X Editor should display the weclome screens of portfolios created with other products, and in the future we might add such portfolio creation tools which will support welcome sreens in our own products as well.

Is there any Adobe Acrobat alternative, that you know of, that can retain layers and create pdf Catalogs ?
