How to crop pages but leave 1cm margin space around text?

I have a pdf doc where I want to crop white space around the text.

All white space should be cropped EXCEPT a margin of 1cm.
How do I specify this?

When I setup in menu

Document-->Crop Pages...

Box=Crop Box
Margin Controls= 1cm 1cm 1cm 1cm

then 1 cm is CUT and NOT 1 cm is left over!

How can I define the opposite values?
I don't want to fiddle around with manual adjustments. Xchange Viewer (Pro) should calculate how much to cut.

Hello Matt,

I am afraid that the Viewer doesn't have such a feature and you will need to specify the margins manually. Those 1cm settings you are making are indeed goign to crop 1cm from each side and not leave 1cm of white space on each side of your text.

Hi Matt,

We do have a ticketing system but it's internal for tracking bugs (and FR at times), however what "seems" easy is not that easy to implement, as what you see on a PDF page is not all that is there on it. There could be invisible objects on the page that would affect the recognition of where the contents border is, and I've had a discussion with our devs in the past and they tried to explain to me the complexity behind such a "trivial" task - it's much more troublesome than it looks. With the PDF XChange Editor on the horizon and due for release I do not believe our devs will approve this FR at this moment, so let's wait a bit and once the Editor is released - do remind us of this topic and I will create the FR ticket for you.

Sorry this is not true! Almost everything you need is already implemented.
Have a look at the following snapshot:

The user should be able to click on a new drop down item or button
"Crop except margin"

Then XChangeViewer should calculate in a first step left,top,right,bottom in the same way just as if he would have clicked
"Set to White Margins". So detection of MAXIMUM TO CROP is already IMPLEMENTED.
All you need is subtract from these 4 values just 1 cm.
Is this trivial or not ?

Currently users always have to do this manually which is unhandy.

Including this new option should be easy. Do you agree?
