Where's the crop function?

I installed PDF-XChange Pro 2012 last week and I'm finding it difficult to navigate.

One of the most frustrating issues it the absence of a true Help content. When I press F1 or click the question mark at the top of the window, there is no context specific help. Instead, I am prompted to connect to the Internet and taken to a a generic help page where I have to select the program I'm trying to use. This is not good, the whole point of the F1 key is to offer the help at the point of need. What exactly is the point of linking to something that doesn't offer immediate help? Furthermore, the online help isn't even searchable. How do I find out how to do something?

FWIW, my query of the moment is how to crop. Where is the Crop tool in PDF-XChange Editor 3?

Thanks for your comments regarding the help file!

As for the Crop - it's under Document -> Crop Pages (Ctrl-Shift-T) - the same as in the Viewer.

Thank you Stephan. I've always just used the toolbar to find crop and I don't see the icon on any toolbar in the editor.

I don't have a "Viewer" anymore, just the Editor and Tools. Was I supposed to download the viewer too?

Hi Athena,

while there is no toolbar icon for "Crop Pages" in the Editor yet you can still access it from the "Document menu" as Stefan pointed out,.. You don't need the Viewer installed to do this.



Regards the Help - we are working on this. We have always had the F1 open a full PDF version of the Help documentation and moving to a Web based Help system is intended to make it easier to keep up to date. Even in the Viewer I'm afraid that we didn't have context sensitive help, just the help file that you could search.

Similarly there is a search feature in that Online help that should do the same thing. If you are having specific issues finding the help you need let me know and we'll do whhat we can to make that easier/simpler to find.

This is so dysfunctional, I don't know where to begin. I don't want to have to go to the Internet each and every time I want to look something up -- and I never have any idea which of the manuals I'm supposed to be looking at. I want the PROGRAM to show me what I'm supposed to be looking at, not the other way around.

I do need the viewer because the editor always opens documents from the internet in the browser so I never have a the commands. I can't "Find", I can't Crop, and I can't save (the icon doesn't work). The editor is a disaster for my purposes.
