I have created a VB.NET application that uses PDF-XChange Viewer that works well. I would like to distribute this application via MS's ClickOnce method.
I deployed the install to my server, and it looks like it automatically brought over the DLL files (see screenshot in attachment). I went to another computer and installed the application via the ClickOnce link.
When the application starts up, it crashes hard with a message from Windows saying "the below files could be used to diagnose the error". I have included these files in my attachment.
Is there something special I need to do to modify the manifest to accomplish this? I read some posts in this forum regarding this, but they were pretty old, and I wasn't sure if they were still valid.
I have not yet purchased my license key, and this is literally my last step to get working before I purchase my license. If we can get this working, I will be making my purchase immediately.
Thanks in advance,
Karl

Re: Deploying PDF-XChange Viewer application using ClickOnce
I found a similar thread disussing this same issue here: https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... =36&t=4055
I installed the "client distribution file" mentioned in the article and that worked. My ClickOnce-installed program ran & printed properly.
While I am happy that this worked, I would have preferred something where I just registered a DLL. I found another thread describing that, but I could not get it to work on a 64-bit machine. When I ran regsvr32, it gave me a warning that the DLL was not compatible with my test machine.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions anyone might have.
Thank you!

Hi, Karl.
Please specify: what is the warning message exactly? Maybe you tried to register the x64 ActiveX DLL on a x86 system?
Best
Regards.
Strange, there should not be any problems. When I ran regsvr32, it gave me a warning that the DLL was not compatible with my test machine.
