Bug in updating the viewer with 'Check for Updates' option

Post by hoodafukisalice »

Hi there,

After the 'Check for update' (under Help menu) reports a new version is available for download, clicking 'Next' says "Updates are downloaded and ready for installation..." even if this download actually fails. I found this when I clicked 'Install' and checked for update reports the same update. Also, the version information (Help -> About...) reports the previous version from which I was trying to update.

Looks like the version check happens on one server, while the actual update download happens from another one. The latter is blocked by my ISP.

If it helps, I use version 2.5 build 213.1) on Windows 8.1

Thanks

Hi,

I would suggest therefore a manual download and install from here;

Thanks John.

I did that. However, this is still a bug, reporting a successful download when the connection didn't even go through.

Hi hoodafukisalice,

I'm unable to reproduce this here, but I will report this to the Dev. Team for investigation, regardless.

Thanks,
