Some little suggestions...

Post by vidigal »

I have recently discover Xchange Viewer e soon it became my favourite pdf viewer, better than the last acrobat....
i have some little suggestions for perfect/state of art software:
- a toolbar command for rename file
- possibility of duplicate/export/import toolbars
- updgrade of annotations filter by type, adding separate filters for underlined/highlighted text and for diverse styles
- auto-rotating page axis on ocr

Hello vidigal,

Welcome to our forums and thanks for the kind words.
Have you tried the successor of the Viewer - the new PDF-XChange Editor:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... nge-editor

- Renaming of the files from inside the Viewer is something we might add in the future. Until then please use the "Save As" option :)
- Have you seen the Edit -> Import/Export settings - those will export your customized toolbars as well.
- Open the comments pane (Ctrl-M) and you can then sort the annotations by several criteria
- There is a deskew algorithm in the OCR process itself, but it will preserve the original image as is, and rotate the text layer instead to match the image orientation. With the Editor you should be able to select the image and rotate it before runnign OCR so that the text on it is "straight" relative to the PDF page.

Regards,
Stefan

The "problem" is that in the editor i dont' find the options for "Show by type" the annotations that is in Viewer. I was suggesting to add to that feature the option to show only highlight/tunderlined text( and various styles) because it have only text markup filter.

i hadn't seen that option.. great...( only the editor and the viewer use two different format to export preferences)

Hi vidigal,

There certainly is a Group By Type option - please check the attached image showing the comments pane.

And yes - the Editor and Viewer settings files are not compatible due to a lot of differences in the products themselves.

Stefan
