Feature suggestion -- Scroll speed vernier

Post by plugger »

Using Version 2.5
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I'd like to be able to scroll slowly, using the vertical scroll bar.

In a document with more than two or three dozen pages, the smallest mouse movement skips too much.

It would be nice to "magnify" the scroll track, so that instead of spanning the entire document, it spanned maybe a couple of dozen pages.
Perhaps the user could choose the slow mode by moving the scroll slider with the right mouse button.

If the user moves the slider to the top or bottom of the scroll track, and releases the mouse button, the program could return to unmagnified mode, and place the slider and mouse pointer accordingly.

Hello plugger,

Thanks for the suggestion - but this will be quite an unorthodox change - and I am not aware of any other application that offers this.
Instead please try the PageUp/PageDown options or using the mouse wheel. Also switch the thumbnails pane on (Ctrl-T) - and there you should see rows and columns of the document's pages - and the scrollbar there should be bigger and easier to manipulate.

Regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan:

Thanks for your suggestions.

But of course I still want a vernier scroll.

And unorthodoxy and uniqueness have cash value!

Hi Bob,

Glad I could help, and I will discuss your suggestion with my colleagues and see what we can do.
