Altering existing PDF document?

Post by ojsann »

Hi,

I am trying to use PDF-Tools SDK to open an existing PDF document, then read and add some metadata (if they are missing), for then to save the PDF document with the added metadata.

In the examples, I found a function for creating a New PDF document (PXC_NewDocument), but I have not found an equivalent function to open an existing PDF - so what am I missing here - I hope this is possible?

Best regards,

Hi,

You will need to use the XCPRO40 library and the functions provided there - the pxclib40 library functions you have found and used are for the creation of new files only - You don't say what development tool you are using, but for example you will find this in the folder;

C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF-XChange PRO 5 SDK\Examples\SDKExamples\CExamples\PXCProDemo

Or similar depending on how you chose to locate your installation on your system.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Best regards
