Feature request: Split Screen

PDF-XChange viewer is awesome, and I first want to thank the developers for that.

I frequently use it to read articles that have endnotes and references, and I'd love to be able to split the screen to have what I'm reading in the upper part and the references section below, to avoid having to scroll back and forth frequently and keep re-finding my point or re-establishing the context for the reference. This is pretty easily done with Word or Excel, by clicking and dragging the small bar at the top of the right-hand scroll bar (see screenshots here) or by a more manual menu (MS article here). From a technical standpoint, it adds another viewport on the same document, which can be zoomed, scrolled, and interacted with just as the original sole viewport.

Can this split screen view be added to XChange viewer?

Thanks for the post and the suggestion - this has actually already been added to the Editor (download link below), which has replaced the Viewer. I'm afraid that, as the Viewer has been replaced and is no longer supported, all new feature implementations will happen in the Editor. I'd strongly recommend downloading and trying it out:

Thanks for this info, and for starting implementation of this feature in Editor!

A few aspects of this feature, borrowing UX from MS Office, that would be nice additions:

• -Small bar to grab at edge of scroll bars, to open split screen view, instead of having to go through the Window dropdown (and remember it's there instead of in View)

• -Drag to the edge to remove/turn off split screen

• -Don't open new documents in split by default, even if what you're previously viewing is split (?)

I would also recommend, when adding a split (e.g. horizontal), that the document view in the newly shown window be initialized at the same zoom level as the document in the (top) pane and scrolled to exactly the point where the (top) of the new window is adjacent to the (bottom) of the now-smaller original pane.

Updating with the linked-to installer, I still see this issue.
When I turn on horizontal split, the horizontal split is created and the lower window has a copy of the document, opened to the first page and default zoom level, rather than scrolling to the split location and rather than having the same zoom as the original single view window.
