Hi
I'm using version 2.5 of the viewer for the first time and so far it looks awesome! However, since I'm a heavy user and have tons of pdfs to work with simultaneously, I encountered some limitation on the software were it refused to open documents since it says that I have too many open documents! Is there anything I can do about this?

Re: Silly Limitation
Hello magoood,
I am afraid that there is a limit of 50 files for the Viewer.
Please download and install the new Viewer's successor - the PDF-XChagne Editor:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... nge-editor
And it should be able to handle more than 100 files at a time.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Silly Limitation
but I'm fine with the viewer as I didn't like at all this editor thing. It simply misses some features in the viewer like restoring last opened tabs when the application is launched so that I don't have to locate and open them again every time the program is re-opened...etc. I don't know why there's such a limitation in the first place?! I should open as many files as I want as long as my system can handle it!Tracker Supp-Stefan wrote:Hello magoood,

Hi magoood,
Thanks for the post!
As far as increasing the amount of tabs/documents the Viewer can open, please see this KB article:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgeba ... as-Id-like
You should find that this helps.
Cheers,
Thanks for the post!
This has been added to the next build of the Editor (I am currently using an internal pre-release) and we are expecting to be able to release this new build later this month (acts of God notwithstanding)like restoring last opened tabs when the application is launched

Re: Silly Limitation
I tried to do the 2 registry hacks mentioned in the article, then rebooted (I'm using Windows 7 X64) but nothing seems to work. I still have the same limitation of 50 files. I guess I will have to wait for a while. I'm thankful to all your efforts though!

Hi magoood,
Even by increasing the amount of RAM the Viewer can use and increasing the maximum number of GDI handles, you still won't be able to open more than 50 tabs per instance of the Viewer, you would need to enable multiple instances, open a second instance and then open the rest of the tabs in that.

Re: Silly Limitation
Opening a second instance is useless in my case since when I do that, I find all my 50 pdfs load up in it so opening an extra pdf file will make the second instance of the program refuse to open it because of the same problem. Will - Tracker Supp wrote:Hi magoood,

Re: Silly Limitation
Hi magoood,
This can be changed by going to Edit --> Preferences --> General and deselecting the option to restore the previous tabs. If you much prefer to have this on, then even just doing this temporarily may be a workaround until the you find the Editor more to your liking.
