How do I set PDF X-change and browser to open pdf's IN THE APP rather than inside the browser, or opening a download dialog?
In other words, I would like for it to open the clicked link to a pdf in an instance of PDF Xchange.
Comodo Dragon --a chromium based
Firefox

Hi jcarerra,
Thanks for the post - please make sure that the option to "View PDFs in Browser" is unchecked, from within the File Associations section of the Preferences (Ctrl + K[\b]). Once that's done, go to the Add-ins section of the browser(s) that you are using and disable the Viewer's add-in.
HTH!

Re: How set PDF X-change and browser to open pdf's IN THE AP
Have done both of those things and the result is that, when a pdf link is clicked, a download window opens to download the file. What I want is for it to open for viewing in the app without having to download to a folder and then open. Most of the time I view a pdf, I do not need to save it. If I do, that can be done out of the viewer. Will - Tracker Supp wrote:Thanks for the post - please make sure that the option to "View PDFs in Browser" is unchecked, from within the File Associations section of the Preferences ... My old computer did this, but I don't know if it was PDF Xchange I was using.

Hi jcarerra,
If that is set, then it is up to your internet browser whether or not it offers an option to open or save the document, that isn't something that we control, I'm afraid. This can usually be found within your browser preferences.
Cheers,

OK, thanks. I use both Firefox and Comodo Dragon (chromium). This was while using the CD browser. I guess before when I was seeing it work "right," I must have been using Firefox.
Tanks.
