When opening a PDF, the thumbnails can be shown on the left. You can right click and select "Export" which brings up the dialog box. The dialog box can export the page to a supplied file and directory location.
Here is the problem: This filename and directory location seems to be cached and doesn't clear when a different user logs into the remote desktop session (using a different user name and different session).
This has been flagged as a possible security issue at my company.
Is it possible to clear this cached data before the viewer launches?

Hello dconner,
Thank you for the post-
You are running am old version of the Viewer. The viewer is currently at version 2.5.309. Take note that the Viewer is no longer under development and I would strongly recommend using the PDF-XChange Editor. The Editor has replaced the Viewer as our flagship product.
You will need to upgrade your serial key to use the latest release of our product. The following link provides a guide on how to upgrade: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgebase/435
Once you have successfully upgraded your serial key, please install the latest version from our downloads page: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/downloads
I hope that helps!

Great! Thanks for information. I got it going. It turns out that I was exporting/importing the settings programmatically and didn't realize that it was being persisted there.

I for one don't think that the Editor can hold a candle to the old Viewer. I've been teaching classes on using PDFs and always use PDF-Xchange to do my demos but I'm going to have to stop because there are too many things that I can't do with my PDF PRO 5 that were standard in the Viewer. You had an outstanding product and now it's just not has usable.Patrick-Tracker Supp wrote:Hello dconner,

2. I don't understand why, having paid for PDF PRO5, I can't get a working version when I try to install it on a new laptop. Everytime I open a file it tells me to upgrade my key...which I have to pay for because I bought PDF PRO 5 a while ago. This is silly. All I want is exactly what I had on my other machine -- a working version of PDF-Xchange with all the features enabled. Among other things, I do not ever want to open PDF documents in IE10. When I click a link to a PDF document, I want all the capabilities I've paid for, not just the browser capabilities. I can't even figure out how to search a document in this thing.

Re: Last exported page file and location persists between us
Hello Athena,
I am sorry you are having problems.
All license keys that will license the Editor will also work for the Viewer, so you can continue using the Viewer for as long as you want.
There were indeed a few features missing from the Editor compared with the Viewer when we released it last year, but today's builds are on par feature wise and the Editor even offers quite a few new things that are not possible in the Viewer. Yes there will be a learning curve as it's a different product, but to tell the Editor is unusable is an overstatement in my opinion.
As for your license - please do e-mail us at support@pdf-xchange.com and we would be happy to advise you of a solution that does not require purchase.
Regards,
Stefan
