I asked this before and never got a fix.
How do I prevent the Editor from opening in a browser window? Nothing I've tried has made any difference. The only way I've found to deal with this is to set a different (not as good) program as my default PDF reader.
It's an inconvenient workaround for me and it's definitely not something I expect new users to do.

Re: How to stop PDFs from opening in the viewer
hello Athena,
To be able to answer you that - we will need to know which your browser is.
Also have you tried the Edit -> Preferences -> File Associations, and uncheck the "View PDF Files in Browsers" checkbox?
Regards,
Stefan
