Xchange Editor 5.5.310.0 - cannot copy and paste

I have recently updated to above version, and found that copy & paste does not work for stamps and typewriter entry.

May be your document prevents it by pdf-security permissions. Please look to Menu/File/DocumentProps, Security Tab..

Hi Vasyl,
Document definitely has no security - I created the document using a PDF printer with no security.
Then I tried it on an old document that I have copied and pasted stamps and text with an older version of Editor, and the same result - I can no longer copy and paste using either the EDIT menu or the KB shortcuts Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V
Furthermore, the same document in Xchange Viewer (older version); same fields can be copied and pasted that cannot be copied and pasted in Editor. I believe the issue is in Xchange Editor.

Very strange.. I still cannot reproduce any problem with copy/paste of annotations, with our test files and your...

Some additional questions:

- what tool is active when you trying to copy/paste?
- do you using any third-party application for Clipboard managing?

Can we look directly on your problem by TeamViewer(http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx) or by any other utility for remote session? If you agree it - please send your credentials for remote-session to support@pdf-xchange.com

Hand Tool is active.
As far as I am aware there are no 3rd party software for copy/paste - I have MS Snipping Tool, but that is not on ..
I do however have about 12 pdf files open at the same time plus about 10 separate programs running at the same time.

I am currently running WIn 8.1 Pro on a MB with I7 920 CPU & 2.67 GHZ clock with 12GB memory, of which about 4GB is used.
Furthermore, I have an SSD (256 GB) and 5 other HD totaling 7 TB ..

Some details about investigation of trouble with copy/paste of annotations on Richard's machine: issue has been reproduced as well but after restarting of PDF-Editor - fully disappeared. Currently we cannot explain why problem appeared/disappeared. Only one we have - the editor been worked a 10 days without restarting, and many documents was opened at the same time. If anybody will have the same or similar problem and additional info for reproducing - please let us know..

Thanks very much Vasyl for solving my problem, despite the fact that it is a sometime problem. Tracker support team is tops. Will recommend product to friends using PDF due to excellent product and even better support.

We still unable to reproduce issue with copy/paste but it looks like that we found possible reason of problem: when you using our pdf-editor and our pdf-viewer both, in the same time - in some cases it may cause editor(or viewer) to stop correct work with clipboard, then only restart of application can help you.
This issue will be fixed in next build v5.5.312, please wait..

Thanks for the follow up Vasyl ... One addition ... I tried habing both Editor and viewer on at the same time, and found that the editor does not work but the copy/paste works in the viewer ... and then closed the viewer, and still copy/paste does not work in editor ..
One thing you might try ... I had my machine on 24/7 without reboot for about 2 weeks, and had an update to 5.5.310 from 5.5.300 without restarting and/or rebooting ... Hope this helps, and you can reproduce problem ...

should I say I'm running Win8.1 with an I7 with 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 750GB Hybrid SSD/platten drive, 2 other drives and a GTX-660? I only total 5.75 TB though...

...all in the same case I bought 8 years ago.

Lucky you Paul .... My system is about 5 years old - unfortunately my older system refuses to run 8.1, so I had to U/G my system to what I have now. The SSD is used to speed the system and progs. execution, and the HD is used to store all my videos, photos and TV shows that I recorded ... Problem is, that it is only partially backed up on a server. Getting too expensive to duplicate my system somewhere else running the server. So only the photos has a multiple back up ... .. Nice hearing from you again .... all the best ..

Gentlemen,

I just was going to report that I am seeing this issue as well intermittently (--> copying/cutting comments but not getting anything when trying to paste them afterwards). I have the Viewer installed as well, but it is definitely not running when the problem occurs.

I did not have any problems with pasting with the test version so far. However, I don't paste comments and the like very often in PDF documents, so could be that my result is not 100% representative. Actually, I'd rather paste base content from time to time (like moving things from one page to another). As I understand, this is a planned feature already.

I am now going back to the regular version of PDF-XChange Editor because I had issues with the previewer component (probably it was not registered or something).

Anyway, it seems that the regular version has reached the build #311 now as well anyway.

Hi all,

I thought I'd let you all know I'm experiencing similar problems with copy/paste. One day I'll be working in a document and can copy and paste just fine, then the next day I can't copy/paste any comments at all in the very same document. I'm somewhat of a power-user, spending as much as 4 hours in PDF-Xchange Editor every day, so I'm familiar with all the little tricks and nuances of the program. There's no security on the document, I've created it myself, the comments are not pasting on top of other comments, and I've tried switching to "Edit Comments" mode and "Edit Content" modes with no results. I believe I can copy without problems, but the "paste" option is completely greyed out. If it helps I'm running Version 5.5 Build 308.2 of Editor.

The problem has occurred a few times, but I can't seem to find a pattern. But I do know that once it breaks, it stays broken.

Didn't read the whole Post but for your information:
In my Setup this issue is caused by the Citrix Workspace (Receiver) App. Immediately after i close the Citrix Window or disconnect the Session Copy & Paste works as normal again.
