Use of tools
Hi There,
I'm in the building trade and i use PDF xchange viewer allot to take of measurements and work out areas from a site plan which is great.
What i need on the measurement tool is to be able to measure to the mm as the tool only measures to the nearest 10 mm which is OK for rough setting out but some times i need to e more precise.
I also need a tool that draws a circle
, and a tool that can give me a X and Y axis point measurement on the screen, you do have this function on the perimeter tool but it doesn't seem to save the distances as you go along.
Can I do this using PDF Xchange viewer or do you have another program I can use for this.
Thanks
Chris...

Re: Use of tools
Please check out the options in the PDF-XChange Editor which has superseded the Viewer for all future development;

Re: Use of tools
Tanks for that John,
Iv down loaded the PDF XC ED which has the X Y axis that i needed, and also you can measure in mm which is great. question, when measuring can you fine tune the measurement using the arrow keys as its hard to get the desired distance using the mouse?
On PDF X Vewer when measuring or hovering over a point that you have already shaded in or used to measure off of, you can press the shift button and it allows you to go off the same point. It doesn't seem to work on PDF Editor, is there a setting for this?
regards
Chris.

Hello Chris,
No way to "fine tune" the measurement with the keyboard, but you can place the measurement, then zoom it to one end and fine tune it with the mouse.
As for the exclusive mode present in the Viewer - it's being worked on and should be available very soon in the Editor as well.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Use of tools
When you activate the "Distance"-tool via the Measurement-toolbar, you should see the Distance Tool Properties-panel at the right of the window. If you do not see this panel, then click in the View-menu > Other panes > Properties pane.
Once that the Properties-pane is visible, you should be able to set how much millimeter on the screen have to correspond with how much millimeters in reality (you can find this at the bottom of the panel, below Size & Dimensions).
You can change the value and/or the measurement units.
If you already should have tried this, and it does not work, then probably Tracker Support will have an explanation for this.

Hi Chris,
I don't believe that we've made any changes - what, specifically, are you seeing that appears different?

Re: Use of tools
Hi Chris,
Thanks for getting back to me - I would recommend taking a look at this KB article:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowled ... the-Editor
This details the use of the Editor's Calibration Tool and, through it, you should be able to specify how many decimal places you wish the Editor to register.
HTH!
