Hi All,
I am a PDF Exchange Editor user and would like to add/develop features to the program that do not currently exist to my knowledge.
I run an design and estimating company that provides building plans, particularly engineered wood floor framing plans (see attached).
I have duplicated the output that is attached with Editor in the past, but it is cumbersome and time consuming. I currently use BCFramer which is a Mitek software named Sapphire and the attached is output from the BCFramer/Sapphire software. BCFramer is also very cumbersome and time consuming.
I am trying to find out if SDK can be programmed to do some of the tasks performed by BCF/Sapphire.
For example: BCF/Sapphire will allow the user to designate a non symmetrical area and fill that area with lines and it will count the lines, name the lines and tally the amount of lines as well as the lengths of the lines in a list (see attached). BCF/Sapphire performs many more tasks, but alot of them are uneeded and make the program complicated and clumsy.
If anyone has experience with ANY type of building plans and the manipulation of Exchange for that purpose I would love to hear about it. I invite any and all replies.
Thank you in advance for any guidance and feedback you can provide.
Best,

Hi, Boise12345.
With the new Editor SDK you will be able to create your own 'BuildingPlans' plugin for our PDF-XChange Editor end-user's application (thanks for the good idea). This plugin may then implement an additional EU-tool(s) (like standard tools: line, polygon etc.) for creating typical building plans. Also, another way that this is possible: you will be able to use this SDK in your own product to directly create PDF's with any content which you need and provide such additional tool(s) for that.
By using this/these tool(s), end-users will be able to create building plans inside the editor-control, embedded in your product.
Currently in the Editor, the end-user is able to add annotations for measuring with predefined or custom scale-ratios and units.
We are currently working on the Editor SDK doc's and examples and an associated Plugin SDK with the release due a little later in the spring.
If you do choose to create a Plugin (as opposed to just offering these functions by embedding our ActiveX within your application) there are potentially other marketing options you would have to all our PDF-XChange Editor application users of which there are many millions - the benefit to you is that there are no Royalty's payable to us in anyway for Plugin developer's and you have much wider marketing opportunities so I would urge you to consider this once available.
Best regards.
