Windows Explorer preview - adjust zoom factor
Hello,
with the Windows Explorer I see PDF files in preview window. The PDF-XChange Viewer toolbar shows the documents with a automatic zoom factor.
How can I adjust and store my own zoom factor (1 page)?
Thank you!

Re: Windows Explorer preview - adjust zoom factor
Hello Holger,
Welcome to our forums. As this is just a preview - I do not believe there's a way to control any settings for it, but try resizing the preview area of the Explorer info, and the preview should change with it.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Windows Explorer preview - adjust zoom factor
Hello,
I would also like the Windows Explorer preview to be in "one page" instead of page width.. When previewing files, you don't want to click at every file you have in a folder. Adobe Reader does it that way. I guess this has to be changed in the iFilter of PDF XChange Viewer.
Is there any chance you implement this or is there a registry hack to change the behaviour?

Thanks for the quick response and sorry for the dirty language.
I've attached two screenshots to make it visible.

https://imageupload.co.uk/image/c9tI -> Reality
Could you please take this option into consideration?

Hi egrkufahfdivussnsfjv,
No worries, thanks for understanding
Have spoken with the Dev. Team and they've agreed that this would be a good idea. Currently, the Shell Extensions (preview handler) use the Viewer's code base, so this would be implemented when we switch to use the Editor's code base, soon.
Cheers,

Re: Windows Explorer preview - adjust zoom factor
Hello egrkufahfdivussnsfjv,
Have you noticed that next to the zoom % shown at the bottom of the preview window there are 3 small icons. Try clicking the last one - and this should adjust the zoom to "Fit Page".
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Windows Explorer preview - adjust zoom factor
Hello Stefan,
thanks for the suggestion. I am aware of these icons.
Imagine you want to quick check 30 PDF files in one folder. For usability reasons it would be better to get the preview in the whole page layout instead of needing to click to get it 30 times.
What do you think?

Hi egrkufahfdivussnsfjv,
I agree as well. As mentioned previously, this will be implemented when the Shell Extensions are switched to use the Editor's codebase.

Re: Windows Explorer preview - adjust zoom factor
Does this mean, when I use the Editor, Windows Explorer Preview should be "whole page"? I tried and it was also page width.

Re: Windows Explorer preview - adjust zoom factor
Hi egrkufahfdivussnsfjv,
The Viewer and Editor currently share the same Shell Extensions and those Shell Extensions use the Viewer's codebase. We will be updating the Shell Extensions to use the Editor's codebase, so this will be possible after that has been done.
Thanks,

Re: Windows Explorer preview - adjust zoom factor
This is very important for me too. It would be appreciated if you would let me know the progress.
I haven't been able to set the width to full page default for Windows Explorer.
Regards
Adam
