Hello,
for the whole search function, I want to search a particular term in all pdf of my "Documents" folder, but I have an error message saying I cannot search in a library
Welcome to our forums.
Please try using the advanced search pane (Ctrl-Shift-F) where you can specify a whole folder, and the Editor will then search all files in that folder.
It seems indeed like it is not possible to search in Windows-"libraries" via PDF-XChange Viewer or Editor.
In fact these (virtual) libraries are a kind of shortcut to one or more "folders" than can be in different locations.
When - in Windows Explorer - you can expand Desktop > Libraries, and you will see
- Documents
- Music
- Pictures
- Videos
When you do a right-mouseclick onto one of these, and you click Properties, you will see (below "Library locations") that this is a bundle of one or more folders in reality.
So, you will normally see "My documents" as a sub-library of "Documents".
When you do a right-mouseclick on "My documents", then click Properties, and click the "Location"-tab, you will finally discover where the files are stored in reality.
So, to run a "Search" via PDF-XChange Editor or Viewer, navigate to the real folder instead of "My documents".
