Toolbar Icon is Very Small

Dear...

I am installing a version 2.5 of PDF XChange Viewer in Windows 8.
The toolbar icons are very small. I saw I can change fontsize of toolbar, but I cannot change the size icons.
Is it possible?

Hi Andre,

welcome to the forums and thanks for the post.

I'm afraid it is not possible in the Viewer to change the icon sizes. In the Editor there is auto-switching between 24 and 32 pixel icons but like in ribbon layouts in MS Office these are managed by the software, not the user choice. We will soon be adding to the Editor a capability to use larger icons on high resolution screens.

What we are seeing however is a lot of people wanting to choose the icon size themselves so to that end we are looking into allowing users to dictate between 16x16, 24x24 and 32x32 pixel icons. This will however be some builds in the future. It will happen, I just can't say when at this juncture.

Hi,

Just loaded the latest version of viewer on Windows 8.1 and find the icons so ridiculously tiny that I can barely click them. This is not my screen resolution -- it only occurs with viewer. For what it's worth though, my resolution is 3840x2160. Is it still not possible to change this? This is a real deal killer for me!

Hello Kay,

Thank you for the post. It is not possible in the viewer, however it is possible in the Editor. The Editor was released as the Viewer's replacement, and as such, the viewer is no longer under development.

I cannot test to confirm this, however I do believe that the Editor automatically detects the screen resolution and renders the icons bigger or smaller depending on the resolution. This is made possible by the rasterized nature of the icon images.

Yes, the editor doesn't have this problem and is a big improvement over the viewer. Many thanks for pointing this out.
