Fillable forms date filed disappear.

Post by docu-track99 »

Hello Tracker,

Please take a look at the attached PDF. Start Dates and End dates in the entire forms can not be saved. I tested it with latest build as well. Once you fill dates , save document and close it, dates disappear when reopening the attached file. Please let me know what could cause this? Is there a work around for this issue?

Also, Please note: If dates are entered using Adobe reader, we can still see it after performing the same steps mentioned above.

Thanks for that,

indeed this is not being done correctly. I have raised a support request ticket around this: RT#2626: Fillable dynamic XFA form date fields disappear in Editor

Support for Dynamic XFA is ongoing, I don't have an ETA for this at present.

hth

Hello Tracker,

Has there been any progress on this issue ? I have just tried this in PDF Editor 5.5.313.1 as well but this is still an issue.

We really need this fixed ASAP as our most of the clients are using government PDFs which are dynamic XFA forms.

Hi docu-track99,

Please try using build 315 and see if that helps:

Hello Tracker,

No that did not work. I am attaching the blank pdf that has an issue. Field Start Date and End Date do not persist.

Hi docu-track99,

If this doesn't work in the latest release of the Viewer, then I'm afraid that it will not be fixed. The Viewer has been entirely discontinued and no further fixes will be offered, excepting those that we deem critical. Also, do note that we did not offer complete support for Dynamic XFA content in the Viewer; this continues to be implemented for the Editor only.

I am the same issue with the form in the Editor, so I'll update the ticket to reflect that.

Thanks,

Any idea when this will be fixed in the Editor?

The problem is that the federal government is producing these forms for our clients doing tax work. Our clients don't have the option of not using these forms.

Hello docu-track99,

Thanks for your post. From what I can tell in the ticket, a work item has been created, and this issue has been given an elevated priority for build 316 or 317.

We do appreciate your continued patience.
Cheers!

Hello Tracker,

We have a work around strategy that we want to implement. In PDF X Change viewer SDK manual, there is a method called ShowXFAInfo. Can you please guide us in the meantime how we can implement this method?

Thanks,
