and is not changeable back.
When starting the PDF Exchange View, it asks to be the default App. This works just for a few
seconds after which Microsoft complains, that there would be a problem with this app and must
be changed back to Edge.
I've updated to Version 2.5 Build 316.1 but there was no fix. Same behaviour.
Any idears except switching to Linux?
Thanks.
Update (Solution):
When opening the Windows Settings Dialog, then "Default apps with file endings" (Hope that is the correct translation)
Then search for the ending .pdf and change the app to "PDF-XChange".
This worked (for the first time up to now)
After Windows 10 update, default App is set to Microsoft Edg

Re: After Windows 10 update, default App is set to Microsoft
Same problem here. Tried with a complete reinstall of PDF-Viewer. But that doesn't help.
Every time i set the PDF-Viewer as standard (or when i start an PDF file), Windows 10 set it back to Edge.

Re: After Windows 10 update, default App is set to Microsoft
Hi Cineatic, huhu_Win10,
Thank you for the posts.
Recent changes in Windows 10 related to file associations rendered our 'set as default' function useless. While this problem is addressed in the Editor already, I am afraid that since the Viewer is discontinued - there won't be any changes there.
The only way to set your Viewer as the default application for PDF files is from Windows itself. Just right click any PDF file and go to Open with -> Choose another app. Look for the Viewer from the list and select it. Put a tick on Always use this app to open .pdf files and click OK (see the attached screenshot). Windows will open all PDF files with the Viewer from now on or until you change this file association.

Radi
