Hi Joe,

are there any security restrictions on the document?

File--> Document Properties (CTRL+D) --> Security --> Document Security Detail.

Hi Joe,

It would appear from your description the author has blocked this - specifically the no commenting and no changes - but if you care to email us with the actual PDF and a link back to this forum message we would be happy to advise further -: support@pdf-xchange.com
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

hi john

here is the file

one more funny thing

i can open this file in your viewer and adobe but not with foxit or nuance etc.

great news for you product but a funny thing is happening

you can open the file however if you create a blank document and then try insert the pages from this one you get a message and not the actual form

this same message is what i get if i open the document with foxit or one of the other reads

do you have an explanation for this

cheers and keep up the good work

joe

Hi, Joe.

Currently we don't support flattening of dynamic XFA-forms.
We will support this feature in the new version V3.

Foxit Reader does not support XFA forms at all - so the embedded Javascript message in this document will appear - similarly - whilst Nuance has limited XFA forms support - it is not as extensive as ours and Adobe and therefore again - you receive this message.

Currently we cannot insert pages from a document with dynamic XFA-form content to another document AND we cannot insert pages from another document to a document with dynamic XFA-form content.

Dynamic XFA-forms cannot be merged correctly, I am afraid they are not designed with this in mind and it is not possible at all, irrspective of the tool you use.

In the future (in V3) we will implement the "Flatten Pages" feature for XFA-documents and you will be able to use this feature before merging these documents.

The "Flatten Pages" feature will fix the pages appearance but in reality the actual PDF form functionality will be lost as part of this process - this would be the same in any tool which flattens the form as you will appreciate.
HTH
