I am trying to add security to a document and then electronically signing the document. When I do this the signature is INVALID. I think this is because you need to creat a signature field to enable the signature to be added. Does anyone know how to add a signature field or how to validate the signature when added (I've tried validating the signature but it makes no difference).
(Note- I'm adding the signature after the security as you don't seem to be able to secure a document when a signature has been added).
Any advice or help would be great.

Hello JaneE,
Please check the build of our Viewer you are using.
We had it in some older builds that signatures were recognized as "invalid" but the latest one should fix this.
Best,
Stefan

Hello Jane,
Nope it is not. It is actually about 10 months old.
We had issues in the past that the Live updater is reporting that you have the latest version while this is not true, so please ask your sysadmin to download and install for you the latest build 2.5.191 from 11 Jan this year.

Also the option 'Help - Check for Updates' will only function if you are using the 'EXE' installer (also provided wrapped in a zip file) - if you are using the MSI installer you cannot use this option at this time.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
