No pages selected
When I try to print a pdf doc, all I get in the print dialogue, is: No pages selected. Just started yesterday. I had the latest version installed: 2.5.191. I uninstalled & installed about a dozen times; used CCleaner & Wise Registry Cleaner to remove files no longer in use and registry entries no longer valid. No help. I installed some prior versions I had downloaded, but none worked; still got the message: No pages selected. I use the zip file mostly; but I even tried the msi installer; so far none has worked. I downloaded the latest version from your web site and reinstalled, but still no printing. Perhaps the print function was turned off if the free viewer?
I can print from all my other programs. I print to a home network printer, which is connected to our other pc; had been working. all other programs print to the network printer. What next?
Using: WinXP SP3 with all updates & patches; my pc is AMD Athlon X2 dual core 6000, 3 GHZ, 4 GB RAM, lots of HD space; Comodo Firewall, Avast AV free, WebRoot AntiSpySweeper, LibreOffice, Secunia PSI. Pretty basic, but all is up to date. Other than LibreOffice, nothing new added lately.
Please help, otherwise I'll have to use another pdf program to print. Thanks for such a great program. So far it's been great.

Re: No pages selected
Hi mmgonzo,
thanks for the report.
First make sure you don't have "Pages" selected with no page range in the Print dialogue bos as that will produce the message "No Pages Selected" as in this screen shot:

If this is the case please select All, Current Page, Current View or enter a page range in the Pages text field.
You mentioned this started yesterday. If the above is not the issue then it would seem that something on your system has changed since yesterday. Have you tried doing a system restore to a point prior to yesterday?
hth

Re: No pages selected
Thank you for your prompt reply and assistance. The entire page is greyed out; the All radio button is selected in Page Range; Printer is blank & status is idle. I checked that XChange viewer was working on my Linux partition, and it was; the print dialogue was ready to print; but on my WinXp pc, not yet working. I did think about doing a system restore, but I wanted to see if there might be another solution. I just now reset settings to default, but still no print.
I would like to attache a screen shot of what the print dialogue looks like. I just tried, but I received the message that the jpg extension is not allowed. What file type will you accept; I will see if I can convert to an appropriate file ext.
Thanks.

I archived with 7zip; hope this works. Thank you for your prompt reply. I also used the: Help - Report a Problem - function within PDF-Xchange Viewer; I wrote up some info related to the problem, but I'm not sure if it was sent or not. My Thunderbird opened, but there was no email to send. Not sure if that helped or not.
Thank you for your assistance.

Re: No pages selected
I noticed today that Comodo Firewall listed a couple of defense+ events, which I had not seen before. They are as follows: under - Flags: Access Com Interface and under Target: \RPC Control\Spoolss
and below that it has under - Flags: Direct keyboard access
It may be that Comodo Firewall is blocking part of the communication of the XChange Viewer program. I will check with Comodo. Has this behavior been reported before?
Thanks for you assistance.

Re: No pages selected
The Comodo Firewall was blocking access to the print spooler. It may be that when I recently upgraded to one of the latest versions, I missed on one of the allow pop-up alerts; instead of allow I may have selected cancel. Which in turn set part of the rule, to block access to the protected com interface.
This was in the Defense+ alerts section. Hopefully I will be more careful in the future. At present, I am able to see that print dialogue again, with the selected page I need to print.
Will need help to close this post as solved. Thanks.

Re: No pages selected
Glad to hear that you resolved the issue mmgonzo,
And thanks for sharing where exactly it was in your Firewall - this could be useful to someone else that visits those forums.
We do leave topics unlocked, but you can consider this post here as "closing" the case
Cheers,
Stefan

Re: No pages selected
I am afraid I am having the "no pages selected" problem too whenever I try to print a PDF file opened with PDF XChange viewer (and yes, I picked "All" in Page Range on the printing page). It looks like this happened since my desktop at the office was changed for a new one. Yet both operating system (Windows 7) and security in place are the same, as far as I can tell. I don't have that problem at all if I use Adobe Reader.
Any idea?
Thanks,
Angelo
