Hello,
Something went wrong without me consciously changing anything (as it usually happens in such cases) and from that moment on any link on any website which leads to a pdf document opens independently in PDF Xchange, not within the browser.
I use Firefox 3.6.13. The option "Display pdf in browser" in PDF Xchange is ticked. PDF files under "Application" in Firefox are associated with PDF Xchange. I tried deleting and restoring my profile from a backup file. All without any results. Any ideas?

Hello mmoni,
Please check the last post from Katya in this topic:

Which I believe addresses the same issue, and the solution offered there should work for you as well.
Best,
Stefan

I tried it but no luck. Now I get the dialogue window, when I click "Open with PDF XChange", it still opens in the standalone PDF viewer, not within my browser.

HI mmoni,
if in Firefox you go to Tools --> Options --> Applications -->
you might see either 'Adobe Acrobat PDF (application/pdf)' or 'PDF-XChange Viewer Document (application/pdf)' depending on what FF has associated with application/pdf. From there you should be able to select to use the PDF-XChange plugin.

Re: Display PDF in browser - again
Hello Paul,
I do have PDF X-Change Viewer associated with pdf files in Firefox Options. In "Actions" scroll-down list I have two options: "Use application PDF Xchange Viewer (default)" and "Use application PDF Xchange viewer". I tried both but without any results.
I realize it is rather Firefox problem than yours because the issue does not come up in Internet Explorer. Still, should anybody have an idea what to do, I'd appreciate if you could let me know.

Re: Display PDF in browser - again
OK, I finally coped on my own.
First I uninstalled PDF Xchange Viewer. The I deleted the file mimetypes.rdf from my Firefox profile folder http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/ope ... ad-actions Then I downloaded and installed PDF Xchange again.
Not sure which action did the trick but perhaps somebody else with similar problems can use this piece of advice.
