Hiya, I have the pdf-xchange viewer pro, and would like to use it to import scans from my scanner/printer. But when I try to use File/New Document/From Scanner I just have a blank list for installed devices. I am using a Lexmark wireless all-in-one. The scanner works fine, and successfully creates a pdf and triggers Adobe Reader. But I'd much rather go directly to PDF xchange.
Any ideas what I've done wrong? It's not a huge deal, since I can in fact scan to pdf. But it would be nice to drive it from this program.
Thanks! -Janet

Re: scanner not listed in device list
hI jtroth,
There can be issues using the 64 bit version of PDF-XChange Viewer with 32 bit scanner drivers. Do you think this may be the case? Are you running a 64 bit OS?
If so try running the 'Portable Version' of the Viewer - it will always be 32 bit and should work with 32 bit scanner drivers: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFX_Vwr_Port.zip
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowled ... nge-Viewer explains the differences between installers and the 'Portable Version'
Using the 'Portable Version' is also a work around for some Outlook connector issues. See this article for more detail on using it as a work around.: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowled ... tlook-2010
Do let us know how this works out.

Re: scanner not listed in device list
Also - it may be that MS offers 'WIA' rather than 'TWAIN' based drivers and this can aslo assist - you may want to ask your Scanner manufacturer or search the Micorsoft web site to see if this is so ...
