Yes, and you have to thank Adobe for using undocumented security algorithms from PDF 2.0 specification which is not yet publicly available.

I see it shows 256-bits AES in acrobat, will you guess or reverse its algorithms?
can you write a letter to acrobat acquire its algorithms?

Yes, it is 256-bits AES, but Adobe has modified a bit password checking algorithm (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_D ... s_versions about 1.7 ExtensionLevel 8 ).
