Hi forum
I'm new to PDF-XChange so thanks for being gentle.
Seems mostly good so far.
The tabbed view of multiple PDF documents is nice.
But I keep hammering away at Ctrl-PgUp and Ctrl-PgDown to move between those tabbed documents, without any result.
Took me ages to find the Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab shortcuts.
Is there any easy way I can re-assign those shortcuts to the Ctrl-Pg keys which is more familiar? (Same as Firefox, Excel, and most other apps with tabs.)
TIA's
Tabs, shortcuts

Re: Tabs, shortcuts
Hi bluegroper,
Yes if you right click an empty area of the toolbar in the viewer and select customize.
Click the commands tab and you'll see the menu, menu items and and associated shortcut keys, the Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab options for Next document and previous document are in the View menu category, double-click on one to open it`s properties and in the lower right you can set the short-cut key to whatever you like, it will notify you if there is a conflict with another command already using that shortcut key.
I did notice that in the Edit menu Forward One and Back One are already using rthe ctrl-pg up and ctrl-pg down so you may want to reassign those prior to assigning the Next and Previous Document commands.
Hope that helps.
best,
Chris

Right Click at the Toolbar, Customize Toolbars, Commands, View, then scroll down to the command/key-sequence desired.Chris - Tracker Supp wrote: Hope that helps.
Edit and sweeten to taste.
It sure does help. Many thanks.
Here's some tiny suggestions to further shine and polish your great looking viewer.
It seems there's no Alt-key shortcuts anywhere in the Customise Toolbars feature.
(There must be a desk rodent somewhere around here.)
Also when the Command Properties window opens, the initial keyboard focus seems sub-optimal.
(Nine tabkey presses to move to the input field.)
Not trying to be critical, just try to make constructive suggestions.

Re: Tabs, shortcuts
Hello bluegroper,
And thank you for your comments. We are trying to use generally accepted, and widely used shortcuts, and the majority of them involves Ctrl - Alt is usually used in combination with Ctrl and another key - and that's in most applications - so it's not that we do not like the key
in particular but rather the de facto standards that exist in shortcut key mapping. You are of course free to remap those as you find best fits your needs.
And for the "initial focus when the Customize opens" - I will have a word with the devs and see if we can change that in the future.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Tabs, shortcuts
Hello again bluegroper,
Actually after discussing this with the guys in our dev team - they asked me to make this ticket:
#1247: Add Alt-shortcuts, change tab-order for "Customize" dialogs
So that this can be addressed.
This is a longer term case, but we will still post here in the topic as soon as there are any news on the problem.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Tabs, shortcuts
Hello bluegroper,
The current build (199) now sets the focus in Customize/Command Properties correctly to the input field directly, and as for the Alt being included by default in key combinations - I beleive I already gave you an answer above why we are not using it - and as said above you can always customize any shortcut in our Viewer exactly to your liking.
Best,
Stefan
