Changing the Icon

Post by UserUser »

Is there any way to change the pdf viewer icon?

I'd like to open pdf files in this program by default, but I keep a lot of pdf files on my desktop and I can't tolerate this program's hideous icon.

Hi UserUser,

If it is the PDF-XChange Viewer program icon then just right-click the icon and choose properties, there are 3 buttons at the bottom Change Icon... is the middle.

Best,
Chris

Hi UserUser,

if it is the icon in Explorer/Desktop you are talking about for PDF files themselves not the shortcut to the Viewer application itself then if you are using Win 7 for example take a look at this article - it details how to change that icon without changing the associated app.

Hi UserUser,

If you left click on a blank spot on your desktop, then hold down the Ctrl key, you can increase or decrease the size of your icons with your mouse's scroll wheel. If you increase the size of your desktop icons then our Icon will no longer show, instead you will have a preview of the contents of your PDF document. This looks quite slick.

Regards,
Jamie.
