SaveAsDestType and Digital Signatures

Post by jeffp »

When I click SaveAs the SaveAsDestType property does what it should.

However, when I click Sign Document and then hit OK in the Sign Document dialog, the Save As dialog that appears goes somewhere on the desktop. How can I get this Save As dialog to default to the path specified in SaveAsDestType or how can I set the default path in this Save As dialog that appears when you sign a document.

Hello jeffp,

I have passed this question to our devs, and we should have some more information for you a bit later today.

Best,

I checked it but I couldn't see any problem here.
Note - if you set the "SaveAsDestType" to "Custom" then "SaveAsDestCustom" property should contain the correct path name, otherwise control will use path to desktop or other...

Ok. Looks like it is a network or mapped drive issue.

If I open a PDF from a network drive, then when I go to SaveAs or the Sign Document OK button, the SaveAs dialog that comes up goes to the desktop as the default. Shouldn't it be the network path I opened the PDF from.

If I open a PDF from a local drive, all is good. The SaveAs dialog uses the opened path as the default.

Were you able to reproduce this on your end?

Hi Jeff,

the ticket says a developer has been assigned to this issue but no further comments yet. I've asked for an update and will post here what we get.

Hi Jeffp,

Just checked the ticket and it seems there was an error on there preventing the correct person seeing Paul's last request for a status update. That has been corrected and a new status request made.

We should this time hear something by tomorrow.

Regards,
Jamie.

Hi jeff,

Vasyl had really hoped to have this addressed for the next build but it seems that as he digs deeper he's finding that this is more involved than he had anticipated and the fix cannot be done so soon. It is definitely going to be done but may need to wait for V3.

If there is another build between 200 and V3 it may be possible to get it in there but at present we really cannot say.

Hi jeff
If I open a PDF from a network drive, then when I go to SaveAs or the Sign Document OK button, the SaveAs dialog that comes up goes to the desktop as the default. Shouldn't it be the network path I opened the PDF from.
I tested with network path and mapped drive, SaveAsDestType == "Original". But I cannot reproduce any problem, all works properly.
What value of SaveAsDestType property you used?
