Well,
My topic heading just about sums up my question! Does anyone know if auto-fill exists in PDF XChange viewer? I love this program, but I am using it to complete my Permanent Resident/immigration forms for my residency in Canada, and I have to repeatedly type in Names and Addresses, like 8 zillion times. Yay bureaucratic nightmare.
So, auto-fill or auto-complete would be super awesome, and since Adobe has it, maybe PDF X-Change viewer wants to out awesome Adobe...which they have done with the exception of this one, niggly thing.
Thanks!
Does PDF Xchange viewer have Autofill or auto correct?

Re: Does PDF Xchange viewer have Autofill or auto correct?
Hello gforcewarp9
Unfortunately we do not have such a feature currently, and I can't find it in the list of planned for ver3:
https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... hp?t=10100
But things could change after the initial release of our new Viewer.
So lets see what ver3 will bring, and after that I can make a FR Ticket for our devs to consider.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Does PDF Xchange viewer have Autofill or auto correct?
Bummer!
Nonetheless, I am still using PDF Xchange viewer because of it's ability to SAVE what I type in the form. Adobe's free version does not allow that, so there! I can work on my mountain of forms without fear of losing everything I've filled out already if say, my 4 year old comes along and turns off the computer. However, I did notice, that one of the forms from Canada Immigration that had a lot of drop-down menu's only worked in Adobe (the drop down menu would not appear in PDF Xchange viewer.) I can only speculate as to why that is, because I am about as tech savvy as your average senior citizen, though I am not one yet.
Thanks for the reply, and keep up the good work!

HI gforcewarp9,
if you have a file that will open in Adobe Reader and not our Viewer we would be interested in seeing that file. Can you attach it to this thread ? Please make sure to put it in a Zip archive first else the forum software will strip the attachment.

Re: Does PDF Xchange viewer have Autofill or auto correct?
Hello,
Sure, I think I can do that, though as I said I'm about as tech savvy as yer average senior citizen, so figuring out how to put it in a zip file might take me some time to figure out. Sad, for such a relatively young person, I know. I should clarify that the file WOULD open, and looked fine, but that when I clicked on any of the drop down menus, nothing would appear in the drop down box to choose. After some consternation, I tried it in Adobe and the form worked the way it was supposed to.
On that note, I will work on sending the form a.s.a.p.
Sincerely,
Gforce

Hello Gforce,
You can e-mail the file to support@pdf-xchange.com and mention in the e-mail that it's related to this topic if that will be easier for you, or simply click "reply" to this topic and attach the file as a .pdf - we have recently changed the restrictions and now both .zip and .pdf files are allowed to be uploaded directly.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Does PDF Xchange viewer have Autofill or auto correct?
Thanks for that form Gillian,
I have determined that there are quite a number of drop down lists that do not work. I am sure that the fix for one will likely affect others. My developers do not have the time to go over every aspect of this form and search for differences between out Viewer and Adobe Reader so I have done this myself and marked the items I could identify with a red ellipse on the attached flat copy of your original.
Can I ask you to check this against the original you have and let me know if I missed anything? I have raised a Support Request Ticket to track the investigation of this issue. Please refer to RT#1337: Does PDF XChange viewer have Autofill or auto correct? when asking about this.

Hi gforcewarp9,
we are deciding what we should attempt to fix for the next build. We asked for some feedback regards the form fields thgat were causing issue. We need that information or we will not be able to look at this until after build 200.
