When creating comments in PDF-XChange Pro (latest) users of Adobe (versions 9 & X) cannot see any comment text. The linework displays fine (i.e. box around text). Tried to flatten comments, but same thing, only linework is displayed. Any insights on this and can it be easily resolved?
Cheers!
David
P.S. I did open the doc in Adobe editor and same thing as above happens. When I double click into the comment box and exit the box the text will then display. I hope I don't have to do this for each comment.

Please also ensure you are using the latest release as there was an issue in an earlier release where comments created in PDF-XChange did not view in other readers - you can download the latest release here :
www.tracker-software.com/PDFXVwer.zip
Please advise if this resolves the issue for you and if not supply a sample file (zipped) - thanks

If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Re: Comments not displaying in Adobe
Thanks for the update suggestion. I had v4.0198.
The good:
New comments created in v4.0199 seem to work in other readers.
The bad:
My comments created in prior versions still won't show up, even if opened and saved in v4.0199
It's not the end of the world for me on my current project as I can easily track and fix all offending occurrences.
Thanks again for the suggestion and keep up the good work.
Cheers!
David

Re: Comments not displaying in Adobe
Hello David,
Please try to open a file created with build 198 - then move a single comment - e.g. 1 pixel to the left, and then back 1px to the right - this will flag the file as modified, and if you save it now - this should fix all annotations.
Please let us know if this works for you!
Best,
Stefan

Re: Comments not displaying in Adobe
I moved a single comment as suggested and saved. Only the moved comment displayed in the other reader, the other comments remained blank. Any way to group select all comments?
As a side note...I work for a multi-disciplinary engineering firm. Two of the departments are now starting to use PDF as an alternate drafting tool. At this stage of development it reminds me of trying to produce drawings using MS Paint. I'm sure PDF functionalities will only increase well beyond their original intent as time goes by (like most other single purposed software).

Re: Comments not displaying in Adobe
Hello MPCE,
Strange - in my tests all comments were affected/corrected.
In any case - you should be able to "Comments -> export all comments to data file" - then delete all comments from the comment pane (you can group them by e.g. author and delete more than one at once) - and then import them back from the data file - and resave the document with now all comments correctly displaying in all adobe products.
Best,
Stefan

Stefan,
The ex/import option worked fine. Thanks for your help on this exercise. I think we can safely close this thread now.
Cheers!
