Hello community,
I would like to export images always to the original document's folder. In preferences-->general-->saving documents-->destination I selected "original document's folder" but it only works for "file-->save as...".
Greetings Seba

Re: Export image to original document's folder
Hello Seeba,
Yes the default is your "Documents" folder, as from our point of View - when you are exporting a PDF as images - you would usually want to have this "copy" of the file in a separate folder where you can easily access in. I will now speak with the guys if we can make the "Original Document's Folder" setting affect the export to images interface as well.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Export image to original document's folder
Thank you very much. It would be great because I want to save the pictures always in the same folder as the pdf file. Export to picture is necesary because in pdf everybody with an editor can undo my changes, isn't it?

Re: Export image to original document's folder
Hi Seba,
If you do the Comments -> Flatten comments - your changes will become a permanent part of the PDF, and even you won't be able to remove them with our Viewer, but there are some tools (e.g. Adobe Illustrator) that will allow you to "tear apart" any PDF File, and manipulate each and every object in it - so yes - if you want to permanently delete and discard all the information that you are correcting - export to image is the way to go for now.
Best,
Stefan
p.s. In ver3 of the Viewer there will be an Object redaction feature - which will effectively allow erasing the old content as you type the new over - but this is not yet available.

Re: Export image to original document's folder
Hello Tracker-Team,
meanwhile we are running XChange Editor v3.0 and looking for the feature to permanently remove parts (customer logo) of the pdf files. We have found a great feature to edit PDF-Objects. Unfortunately most of the PDF were created by scanning, so they are composed of just one big picture object. So were still not able to remove permanently a part of it without exporting and reprinting it? Or ist there a function we havn't found until now?

Re: Export image to original document's folder
Hello sebastiana,
I am afraid that when the customer logo is part of the image, the only way to remove it would be to alter the image itself. For now you can export the PDF's page(s) to images, open them in an external image editor and make the desired changes to remove the logos from those images.
Regards,
Stefan
