Text using my font not displayed
I have generated a PDF file using Shadow font but the text is not displayed (see attached file). However the Document properties correctly shows the font is being used. Searching the document correctly finds the text but it is simply not being displayed. How do I get is displayed?

Hello McSporran,
Please make sure to embed this font in your document (there should be an appropriate option in your PDF Creator), and it should then be visible on any machine - irrespective of whether it has the same font installed or not.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Text using my font not displayed
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, I thought about the need to embed fonts. I'm using PDFCreator (1.2.3) and in Options -> PDF format -> Fonts, embed all fonts is ticked. I assumed this would do the job, but evidently not.Tracker Supp-Stefan wrote:Please make sure to embed this font in your document (there should be an appropriate option in your PDF Creator), and it should then be visible on any machine - irrespective of whether it has the same font installed or not.
Incidentally, I have Shadow font installed on the target PC and XChange Viewer happily uses and displays this font correctly when I use Typewriter.
Any further ideas?

Re: Text using my font not displayed
Hello McSporran,
I presume the problem is in the way PDF Creator embeds the font then, as it is not displayed at my end in neither of the PDF Viewing applications I tested. I would recommend you to try and download e.g. our Standard printing drivers:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... e-standard
And see if they are capable of embedding the font correctly (yes they will work in trial mode and also add "DEMO" stamps to the file -but it's worth testing I believe).
Best,
Stefan

Re: Text using my font not displayed
Problem is in PDF file (and in the PDF creator used too) - it uses non-standard encoding and does not specify the parameters etc it is using !
In such cases the font must be embedded and built-in encoding used.
On my PC there is no Shadow font and both our Viewer and Adobe Acrobat display blank pages.
The Solution - correctly 'tune' the PDF Creator used, if it allows or use another which can perform the task correctly.
HTH.
