PDF File size created from JPG files

Post by precision models and projects limited »

I am creating PDF files that are made from imported JPG files. The PDF file is being created about seven times the size of the original JPG files. I think this is because the JPG is compressed but the image is not compressed when put in the PDF. PDF files I have with similar images, but not from PDF-Cchamge seem to support compression of the images in the PDF.

Can I do this with PDF-Xchange. I do not want to down sample as I lose detail.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

because you have posted in the Viewer forum I will assume you are using the PDF-XChange Viewer to create the document. You would be better off using the PDF-XChange Print Driver as it has control over both down sampling and compression separately. In the driver Printing Preferences look to the 'Compression' category to set this.
