password protection

Post by bobbawden »

Hello

I have created my pdf and password prtected it so that once we have it as a download on our website it cannot be changed by other users, however, I cannot now find where and how I can access it myself to make changes as it is secured. Please advise me where i can input my password to access and edit the document,

thanks

Hi Bob,

take a look at this article, it explains the basics of using document security to restrict access like this. https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowled ... dits-to-it

Typically you put a password to open the document and a second password to allow you to control who can make changes. If your password is correctly set up PDF-XChange Viewer should prompt you to enter a password when you open the file. See my sample attached. It has a password of password and to make changes you'd need the second password of password2

File --> Document Properties (CTRL+D ) --> Security --> Security Method --> Change Settings [button] --> Password Security Settings Dialogue where you can make the changes you want to the document security.
