PDF-XChange Viewer help file outdated?

I recently tried to find some information about the new OCR functionality in the help document associated with PDF-XChange Viewer. To my surprise, the help document describes PDF-XChange Viewer v2.0.4x, whereas my software version is v2.5.200.

Did the technical writers not keep up with the software developers or is a more recent help file available somewhere???

Well, in fact I had tried this already, but the program tells me:

Your installation is current - no update is available

I'm not sure why you are not getting that. Can you check the date on the help file in the Viewer install folder? By default it is C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Viewer\Help



I just updated my manual and the file is dated today. If your file is older than this it likely is not up to date. You can either move the existing manual to another location and try the update again or extract the attached manual and put it there.

Future updates should work. If not let us know and we'll dig a little deeper.

Well, the old help file date was 24/05/2010, as was more or less to be expected.

I renamed this file and then went through the update process once again. Now it worked and the new help file for PDF-XChange Viewer v2.5x was installed correctly ... which was what I originally wanted.

If the update process doesn't work the next time, I'll be back ...
