Add the option to import XML for adding hyperlinks

Is it possible to add an option during the Setup text search/hyperlink window in the "Add hyperlink in PDF document" tool for importing XML files?

At the moment, it is a manual one by one process. If I wanted to add hyperlinks to hundreds of pieces of text, that will take a long time. As part of that same window, also if you can add options for absolute or relative path names for the destination link if the files are not on the internet.

thanks for the post. I'm not entirely sure I understand what you are doing here or the subsequent request. Can you give us a step by step explanation of what you are doing right now that is 'a manual one by one process'? With a clearer understanding of this we can comment on if this is practical to add as a feature.

I know this is an old request, but it would be helpful for me also...

An option to include a text file/link to a file (even a CSV, it needn't be an xml file) in that action that contained a list of potential text in the PDF to find and the URL it should be linked to, and optionally any formatting (like a markup annotation) the link/text should have would be great (background color etc.).

I've used [url=https://evermap.com/autobookmark.asp]AutoBookmark[/url] in the past for something similar (linking part numbers to shopping links)...

e.g. the text file:

P123, https://mystore.test.com/product/P123
L546, https://mystore.test.com/product/L546
etc.

In this case, you can effectively accomplish the same as the tool you linked!

To begin, create bookmarks with the text term you wish for each link to be created above (note that bookmarks are effectively link objects themselves and CAN be configured to point to specific external paths/url's, they are not limited to only pointing at pages in the current file):

Once the initial bookmark is configured with the desired action/process, you then need only look to the bookmarks tab, and use the "links from bookmarks" tool:

This will locate text strings matching the bookmark name in the current file, and generate a link on those strings which have the same actions as the relevant bookmark.

If you need to apply this same set of "term/links" to multiple files, you can also use the Export/Import Bookmarks feature on this tab to duplicate them to other files, and quickly generate a set of links in each file.
