Convert Multiple Emails to a PDF
I am evaluating a copy of PDF-XChange Pro as an alternative to purchasing Adobe Acrobat for numerous employees. One of the key features that our users need is the ability to convert and consolidate multiple e-mail messages from Outlook 2007 and/or 2010 into a single PDF file. Acrobat adds a menu in Outlook that allows users to quickly do this by selecting “Convert Selected”. Is there a quick and easy way for users to accomplish this in PDF-XChange? Thanks for your help!

Re: Convert Multiple Emails to a PDF
Hi jnickles,
such a feature, while not available in the current version of the Viewer, is on our radar. More than that we are planning a plugin for this very thing.
Having said that, our development team are under enormous pressure to deliver V3 of the Viewer for May 31st and while we would love to dive into this plugin as soon as that is done it would be unreasonable of me to make that a promise here now. There is a very strong chance that this will happen and happen later this year, but given the nature of software development I cannot at this time set this is stone as a deliverable, we'll have to see how things progress throughout the year.

Paul,
That's too bad. Is there any workaround you can think of that we could use until the plugin is ready? This is a key feature that our users need.
Thanks!
Jeff

Re: Convert Multiple Emails to a PDF
Hello Jeff,
The only thing I can think of is printing each e-mail separately to our printing drivers, and use the same filename for all prints. This will prompt you that such a file already exists - and ask you for an action. Simply select to "Append to" - and the final result should be a single file containing the bodies of all the printed e-mails.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Convert Multiple Emails to a PDF
This works, at least partially. Acrobat will embed original email message attachments in the PDF as part of the conversion. Is there any way to do this with your product?

Re: Convert Multiple Emails to a PDF
HI jnickles,
not yet. I believe that is also coming. The exact details will be available as we get closer to the release.
In the Printer Driver Options there is the setting to 'Append Current Job to the last Active Job'. Setting this will allow you to keep appending to your PDF.
Just open what you need and print it in the order you want it to be in the final document. So perhaps you might print email A, attachments A, B, C etc from email A, then email B, it's attachments etc
