Hi all
I am reading PDFs on an ereader.
The ereader takes the highlighted text and saves it into a litesql database
I would like to know if there is anyway to permanently highlight the text selected in the databale
By my understanding this is done (texts selection in the database) by using #pdfloc coordinates
What is the best tool and the best way to achieve this?
thanks
PF
PS: attached you will find the db file with highlighted text and the coresponding PDF page
Just rename the first file, it is not a pdf but a .db file

Re: Need help with merging highlights to a PDF
Hello PF4PDFX,
Doing a quick search - I could not find anything specific on what is to be inside this pdfloc structure or a .pdr file in general. Seems like Amazon are not publishing it.
The best I found is this:
http://jerous.thimhallan.org/cms/dokuwi ... ny_prs-350
But it doesn't quite seem to match your entries.
And without any official documentation on what is inside I am afraid we won't be able to help you extract that information and convert it to e.g. an FDF file or store it as proper PDF annotations inside the .pdf file itself.
Best,
Stefan

Thanks for looking at this issue
Let's put it this way: assuming that I have the text or the position of that text on a page which of your tools is good for this task (highlight the text and merge it with the PDF)
thanks

Re: Need help with merging highlights to a PDF
Hello PF,
Pleaes check section
"3.6 How to Enumerate Characters in Document?"
of the Viewer AX SDK,
as well as
"2.2.2.4.1.2 Pages" (and the available text methods) - which will allow you to highlight the needed text.
I would also recommend you to check our PDF Tools SDK and the XCPRO40 LIB Functions for further and more advanced text extraction.
Best,
Stefan

You could do that only if you guessed the language upfrontTracker Supp-Stefan wrote:Hello PF,
