Thin lines are not displayed in PDF X-Change Viewer

Post by schechi »

Hello Support,

while testing PDF X-Change Viewer V2.5 Bulid 201.0 we experienced the following problem.
Creating a diagram in excel and printing this to a pdf thin lines are not displayed correctly.

Adobe Reader X displays the lines correctly.

While we are an investment company our users have lots of pdfs with charts inside drawed with thin lines.

Please find attached screenshots taken with the problem and the orinigal pdf.

Thanks in advance for your help !

Hi,

This issue occurs because the line is clipped with a rectangle that has zero height. For now we can do nothing to compensate for this but in Version 3 this issue is resolved using a new method for 'Stroke adjusting' such output (I appreciate that does not help for now).

Thanks for your patience.

Hi John,

can you give me a timeline when V3 will be released?

We want to replace Adobe Reader in the whole company with PDF X-Change.
The only Problem we now have is this one ;-(

Thanks
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

Version 3 will be released on 31st May this year - it is a total rewrite and extends the features and fucntionality significantly including Page editing, extended XFA/Dynamic forms support, DRM support for Plugins such as FileOpen, the ability to modify and minimise the User interface where features are deemed too complex or superfluous to a specififc user etc and much much more.

Here is a full release schedule for this spring/early summer - with our V5 virtual print driver first out later this month.

Hi John,

did you fixed this issue in a recent release?

We want to deploy PDF X Change Viewer now under Win7 and replace Adobe Reader.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Dirk,

V3 of our Viewer - now called Editor - is available for download here:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/pdf-xchange-editor
But due to some technical issues it is still not 100% complete product.
The lines should display properly but you could find a few features present in the Viewer are not yet available in the Editor.

Regards,
Stefan
