If the pdf file has a "." in the file name, when I click the Send by email button from within PDF-Xchange Viewer, the .pdf extension is deleted from the attachment and is replaced by whatever follows the "." in the original file name.
For example, my file named "INC 7 VOL 6D TA7.09.pdf" is renamed to "INC 7 VOL 6D TA7.09.09".
Verified on two different computers running the same version of PDF-Xchange Viewer. One Windows XP, the other Windows 7.
