Creating bookmarks automatically from a TOC

I have a PDF file (an installation manual for an avionics device) which has a Table of Contents, but no Bookmarks. I'd like to create the bookmarks from the TOC more-or-less automatically. Possible?

Hi buggsy2,

I'm afraid that there is no automated method for doing this in the Viewer or even our other tools. You would have to click each link and with the target page displayed add a bookmark.

The Viewer supports JavaScript. It is technically feasible to write some JavaScript to parse the document for links and generate bookmarks based on that but this would not be trivial to do.

I have a PDF document which was presumably produced from MS Word and has a table of contents in which each Section number, Section header and Page number has a hyperlink to the appropriate page. Would such a ToC be easier to convert to Bookmarks? If so could that be a useful feature to add to future versions?

Thanks for the post - the Editor comes with a bookmarks plugin that allows for the creation of bookmarks from page text. I'd recommend downloading and trying the Editor here:
