Unable to Search for Words with Latin Extended Characters

If I use the find toolbar to search for a word containing Latin Extended characters like "mahātissa" the ā macron is converted to another character, and the search string is therefore not found.

I am sure that this used to work. I am using the latest build 203.

I spoke too soon. The problem was due to the file not using Unicode encoding, although the text in the Find toolbar does not display the Latin Extended ā macron correctly, it does display correctly and find the words if the PDF file is correctly encoded.
