8.5 x 17 printing jobs fail

Hello,
I'm having an issue printing 8.5 x 17 pages with PDF-Xchange.

Works with other PDF software but not this.

Any tips?

What exactly is the issue? Is it printing to the wrong size? Does it Fail to print at all and if so is there an error message?

Does this happen for any PDF printed to this size or is this restricted to specific PDF files? Are the PDF pages 8.5 x 17 or are you scaling the print to this size?

The more detail you can provide the better we can help.

Maybe I should have included that...

What it does is just stop printing. So it will do some small percentage of the page but nothing more.

I've changed the spooling settings without success and have updated the printers driver.

Can you think of anything else I can try?

This is in Windows XP.

no problem, I've been guilty of similar myself...

Does the Print Preview in the PDF-Xchange Print dialogue show all the pages? You should be able to click through the pages using the controls below the preview.

Also - I'm assuming that printing other paper sizes to this printer works, do you have another printer you can try printing 8.5 x 17 to? I am interested in determining if this is specific to your system and printer driver combination.

Some things to do before we can trouble shoot this further:

• Check that you are using the latest build of our Viewer: http://www.docu-track.com/knowledgebase ... nt-version
• Check the printer manufacturer's website for any updated drivers, install and test if available.
• try printing from a different PC, preferably with a different version of Windows to the problem printer if possible.

We can print this document on 8.5x11 just fine but not with the larger paper.

I can see the whole document on preview.

The driver is updated and I've updated the program as well.

Can you think of any other troubleshooting I can do?

I've just read the whole topic twice - and have the feeling that your problems are with the printing drivers. But you've posted in the Viewer subforum. SO to straighten things out - is the issue with our Viewer not being able to print to a hardware printer PDF files with pages sized 8.5 x 17, or is the problem with printing to one of our virtual drivers?

If it's the first case please do to Help -> About in our Viewer and confirm you have build 203, and if it's the latter - please let us know whether you are using v4 or 5 of our products and whether it's the Standard or Lite printing driver you have. And if possible the build number installed as well (if you are not sure for the build number simply attach a test printed PDF and we will obtain the info from it).

Looks like we have the full driver package and I've already updated the software to the most current version.

It will print fine in other dimensions, it is only with 8.5 x 17 it fails.

Any tips?

Hi Robonglious,

Please make sure you have the following settings at the PDF-XChange Printer 2012 Properties.
Page Size: Custom, 8.5 x 17.0 inches
Layout: Type: Standard, Sheet Size: Custom, Size: 8.5 x 17.0, Scale 100

If Layout:Sheet Size is set to Auto, the XChange Viewer settings will override the printer settings.
