Hello,
we use PDF-XChange for printing different sized pdf-files.
Most of them are not exactly fit to A4 or A3, but we only have this paper in our printers.
But we need the automatic that PDF-XChange select the papersize.
So, the printer have many more sizes then A4+A3 in his menu....and PDF-XChange select some of them. Then the printer make error and nothing gone.
Can we fix the automatic to select A4 or A3?
It is an option, that your make a selection under the following registry-key?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Print\Printers\xxx\DSDriver\printMediaReady
Thanks!

Re: Automatic select papersize over PDF
Hello Mafac,
And welcome to our forums. Please try to specify in Our Viewer's print dialogue to "Reduce to printer Margins" and then make sure that "Choose Paper source by PDF page size" is NOT selected - and our Viewer will print to the A3 or A4 paper that is currently selected as the active one in the Printer's own preferences scaling down content if needed.
Once you've performed a successful print - you can either check the changes in the registry, or simply export all settings to a data file - and then import them on other machines as needed.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Automatic select papersize over PDF
Hello stefan,
thanks for your post.
The way that your write we know.
But our users won´t change for each print the active papersource in printer settings...they hope that PDF XChange do this.
And we have ERP-software that printing A4+A3 documents in automatic modus, that PDF-XChange must also change automaticly the papersource.
The idea is, that we can say PDF-XChange to select only A3+A4 to print...
Thanks.

Re: Automatic select papersize over PDF
Hello IT of Mafac,
I am sorry - but our Viewer will ask the printer what paper sizes are available, and when it reports e.g. 20 different ones - our Viewer will select the one that best fits the content that is to be printed. So the only solution would be to manually switch to the A3 or A4 page size through the printer's preferences.
For the ERP - it is most likely producing exact A3 and A4 pages - so for it you might want to have a separate instance of the Viewer where the "Choose Paper Source by PDF Page size" is turned on.
Best,
Stefan
