Hi forum,
suddenly during the last days, the PDF Preview Handler has stopped working.
In Windows Explorer, it does not work at all (the Windows Explorer preview pane stays empty).
In Dopus, it works exactly one time, and then makes docsvw64.exe (which handles the preview pane in Dopus) crash.
I already have uninstalled and re-installed PDF-XChange Viewer, but with no avail.
(Thumbnail generation however works without problems in Windows Explorer)

Hi David,
In order to help us identify the cause of this problem could you please specify which installer you used? Was it e.g. the .exe or .msi installer for the Viewer or maybe the full Pro package?

Hi Stefan,
it was the full Installer "PDFXVwer.exe" (Pro Version). I also tried Build #203 -- but it has the same problem.
Any thoughts?

Hi David,
Could we get some more info on the OS Version used (e.g. Win XP 32 bit, Win 7 64 bit), and any service packs installed and also have you changed anything else in that system recently or around the time when the problems started?

Thanks Stefan, sorry it is Windows 7 64 Bit with latest updates.
I can't remember having changed anything (definitely not anything that is PDF related).
At the moment I am working around the problem quite successfully by using the Internet Explorer based PDF preview mode in Dopus (instead of directly using the preview handler).

do you see this on any other machines? If available I'd be interested in knowing this as we have not seen other reports of this and have not managed to reproduce it here yet.
I'm trying to determine if this is something unique to this PC.

do you have any other versions of our software on the machine in question? I see you did an uninstall/re-install, can you check Program files and confirm that you only have one install location?
It might be worth doing an uninstall, deleting C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Viewer if you are running just the Viewer installer and C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\ if it's the Pro bundle. Then restart the PC and run the installer again.
