Hi all,
can I customize the appearance of the selecting tool? I'm refering to the colour of the cursor, not the properties of the objects/selections created.
I have many documents with a grey background. The default cursor (for drawing lines, highlighting text etc.) is also coloured grey and rather small.
So it is almost invisible, even when I move it.
Matthias

Re: Change colour/appearance of cursor
Hello Matthias,
I believe those cursors we use are the same as used by all other windows applications, so to sort this you will need to change your mouse cursors in general through Windows -> Control Panel -> Mouse.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Change colour/appearance of cursor
Hi Stefan,
I've changed my cursor settings in Win7. It worked out well for my desktop and other Win applications (e.g. Office). However, the cursor of the PDF-XChange Viewer remains the same. So either the cursor is preset by the PDF-XChange software or Win 7 doesn't allows me to change all types of cursors via the control panel.
May be you know an other option?
Regards, Matthias

Re: Change colour/appearance of cursor
Hi Matthias,
Thank you for your post.
The cursor icon is taken from Windows.
I have tested mine with Windows 7 and PDF-XChange Viewer version 2.5.205.0 and it is working.
Also, please have in mind that PDF-XChange Viewer has its own pointers and these pointers cannot be changed from Windows or PDF-XChange Viewer.
For example, when you select the text tool, the mouse pointer will change when the user hovers over text to signal that the text tool has been selected.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Nicolas

Re: Change colour/appearance of cursor
I am having the same issue as the original post, however I believe the issue is with the pencil tool (freehand) specifically. I believe the windows cursors are not related to the pencil cursor (the cross-hair cursor). As posted earlier, when viewing a scanned image with a grey background it is very difficult to see the cross-hairs when annotating and I can't find a way to change the colour of that specific cursor nor size / shape. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Change colour/appearance of cursor
Hi Johnny5,
while this is not possible in the current Viewer, I have created a formal Feature Request (RT#1658: Feature Request - Customize cursor)and if this is likely to be done it will be in version 3 of the Viewer sometime after the initial release.
I hope that helps.
