PDF's on ADP iPayStatments web site not displayed correctly!

Hello,

I installed PDF-XChange Viewer on my fathers PC but now his PDF statments are not displaying correctly on the ADP iPayStatments web site using IE8 and IE9.

If however I use compatibility mode in IE8 or IE9 it fixes the issue.

They display fine with Adobe reader however. But of course removed that junk from his computer and wanted him to use PDF-XChange Viewer.

What happens is most of the PDF is like hidden and you can read it.

Is this a known issue and can it be fixed?

Could you please download and send us one such file to support@pdf-xchange.com with a link to this topic.
I presume the files are sensitive and that's why I am not offering you to post it directly here in the forums.

We will then check that file and see what can be done to properly support it.

I can open it in IE8 and 9, Chrome, Firefox and both the stand alone PDF-XChange Viewer and Adobe Reader and they all render identically. You mentioned that the issue is resolved with IE by using 'compatibility mode'. I think this might be your best option as it appears the issue may be with the way the web site is delivering the file or perhaps your IE settings?

I don't want to just pass this off but the PDF appears OK and it renders the same as Adobe in all variant's of our software I've tried. I know that ADP use our PDF technology so would expect it to be compatible.

Have you contacted support for the iPayStatements web site and reported the same observation? I honestly don't think it's the PDF or the Viewer, especially since when you use compatibility mode for the page that fixes things.

I have not contacted them yet.

However I have a feeling all they will say is I need to be using Adobe Reader .

Anyway thanks for looking into this and I will see if I can contact ADP about this issue.

Well its been about a week and I never heard from them.

• Can you save the file in your hard disk and open it from there by using PDF-XChange Viewer? How does it render the file?

• Can you copy the file url from the browser and open it from the PDF-XChange Viewer's "File->Open from URL" menu ? How does it render the file?

When I download it to my desktop it opens just fine in PDF-XChange Viewer.

However I can not seem to open it when putting in the url in PDF-XChange Viewer.

Yes, this may be the expected behavior if you are trying to access a secure connection and do not provide the credentials.
The fact that the file can be open and read without any problems with the stand alone PDF-XChange Viewer implies that the problem is in how the Web application is calling the embedded version of PDF-XChange Viewer. Moreover, I was able to render the file without any issues from Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 14 by providing the url that points to the file saved in my PC, which verifies this. From this side there isn't much we can do. Everything seems to indicate the problem is with the ADP iPayStatements application.

Ok case closed

I will just run that web site in compatibility mode until the web site gets fixed if ever.

Or maybe better yet maybe I will just start using Firefox or Chorme full time because this issue is only with IE 8,9 and I bet 10 as well.
